(updated 8 October 2007) Vilma Misiukoniene is the director of the Infobalt Copyright Agency, which is a unit of the IT&C Association in Lithuania. She has worked in the area of copyright protection of software since 1997, lobbying on behalf of the local industry at major international institutions such as the WIPO, the US Copyright Office and the European Information Software Services Association. Vilma Misiukonienė has been a board member of the Internet Research and Innovation Institute since April 2005.Her interests include software, database registers and databases, software protection and patentability, Internet domain names, digital publishing, etc. Ms. Misiukoniene has conducted numerous training sessions and presentations at national and international events. She is a member of the Lithuanian Copyright Board and serves as an advisor for the Information Society Committee of the Lithuanian parliament. She had previously worked in the private sector as a software developer and then as a marketing and sales manager. Ms. Misiukoniene holds a master’s degree in informatics and computer sciences from Vilnius University and is currently pursuing a second master’s degree in law. |
